House Renovations in North Wales

Renovation is what we do best, and it’s the work we most enjoy. A full house renovation touches every part of a home, and it only works when one team takes responsibility for the whole thing — the structure, the trades, the finish and the timeline. That’s exactly how we run our projects.

Russell Developments carries out complete house renovations and refurbishments across North Wales and the North West. Whether you’ve bought a tired property with good bones, inherited a home that needs bringing into this century, or simply want to transform the house you already love, we manage the entire process from first survey to final handover.

Because we hold most trades in-house, you deal with one team and one point of contact — not a rotating cast of subcontractors you have to chase. That’s the difference between a renovation that runs to plan and one that drifts.

What a full renovation involves

Every renovation is different, but most of our projects bring together the same core elements: structural alterations to open up or reconfigure the layout, a full rewire and replumb where needed, new kitchen and bathrooms, replastering throughout, joinery and second fix, and complete redecoration. Many also involve an extension or a loft or garage conversion to add the space the house was missing.

We handle all of it under one roof. That means the electrician, the plasterer, the joiner and the tiler are working to the same programme, and nobody is waiting on anybody else. It's the single biggest reason our renovations finish on time.

Period and traditional properties

North Wales has a wonderful stock of older homes — Victorian terraces, stone cottages, farmhouses and characterful properties that deserve to be renovated sympathetically. We're comfortable working with the quirks that come with age: solid walls, lime plaster, uneven floors and the surprises that always turn up once you open things up. We modernise these homes for comfort and efficiency while keeping what makes them special.

One team, one responsibility

The biggest risk in any renovation is coordination — trades turning up in the wrong order, work having to be undone, and no single person owning the outcome. We take that risk off your hands entirely. We plan the sequence, run the site, manage the trades and hand you back a finished home. You get regular updates and one number to call.

Where we work

We’re based in Colwyn Bay and renovate homes throughout North Wales and into the North West — Llandudno, Conwy, Rhyl, Abergele, Bangor, and the surrounding towns and villages. If you’re not sure whether you’re in our area, just ask.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a full house renovation take?

It depends entirely on the size of the property and the scope of work, but a whole-house renovation typically runs from a few months to the better part of a year. We’ll give you a realistic programme before we start, and we keep you updated against it throughout.

We manage everything. That’s the point of using us — one team takes responsibility for the entire renovation, from structural work to the final coat of paint. You deal with one point of contact throughout.
Sometimes, for smaller or phased projects — but for a full renovation it’s usually cleaner, faster and safer for everyone if the property is empty. We’ll advise honestly based on your specific project.
Yes — we’re very comfortable with traditional construction, solid walls and the challenges that come with older homes across North Wales. We modernise sympathetically.
