Russell Developments is led by its owner, Jay Russell — a builder in the truest sense of the word. Jay started his career the right way, taking up an apprenticeship at just 17 and learning the trade from the ground up. He is a qualified NVQ Level 2 Bricklayer and NVQ Level 2 Joiner, with the kind of hands-on, time-served expertise that can't be shortcut.
That grounding shapes how the whole business works. Jay personally oversees every aspect of a project — from pricing and planning through to day-to-day project management — and he still picks up the tools himself when a job calls for it. It means the person running your project understands it at every level, and that the standard of workmanship is set and checked by someone who knows exactly what good looks like.
Building is in the blood
For Jay, construction isn't a job he fell into — it's family. He grew up surrounded by the trade, part of a family with a strong building background that shaped him from an early age. His uncle was one of the largest building contractors in North Wales, building an outstanding reputation from the 1970s through to the 2000s. Growing up around that legacy gave Jay both his passion for building and a benchmark to live up to.
It's a heritage he carries forward with pride. Russell Developments is built on the same values that earned that reputation decades ago: honest work, high standards, and taking genuine care over every detail.

Away from the business, Jay is a dedicated family man who enjoys keeping fit in the gym and spending time with his dogs.
