House renovations
Whole-house refurbishments, which can include structural alterations, rewiring, replumbing, plastering, joinery and decoration.
Russell Developments builds across Rhyl and the neighbouring coast from our base in Old Colwyn, along the A55. We are an owner-led company taking on full house renovations, extensions, loft and garage conversions and one-off new build homes in Rhyl, Kinmel Bay, Towyn and Rhuddlan.
From complete house renovations to extensions, conversions and new builds, we take on substantial residential projects throughout Rhyl and the surrounding area.
One experienced team, clear communication and a considered approach to every property.

↗Rear, side, two-storey and wrap-around extensions that give a family home more room.
↗Loft and garage conversions that create an extra bedroom, a home office or a second bathroom.
↗Individual houses built to your plans on your own plot.
↗Fitted as part of a larger renovation or extension, not as stand-alone jobs.
•Rhyl has a wide mix of housing, and a lot of it has real potential. Near the seafront and the town centre are streets of tall Victorian and Edwardian terraces, built when the town was a busy resort, and many were later divided into flats. Further south and east the town is mostly interwar and post-war semis and family houses, with newer estates on the edges. Over the river in Kinmel Bay and Towyn there are a great many bungalows.
That mix suits the work we do. A large older terrace can be a rewarding renovation, with the layout, wiring, heating and finishes all brought up to date in one project. A semi with a side drive and a decent garden often has room for a side or rear extension. Bungalows frequently stand on generous plots, and some have roof space worth looking at for a loft conversion.
Renovation is what we do best. With most trades in one team, the structural work, the services and the finishing are planned together from the start.
Rhyl is in Denbighshire, so planning applications are decided by Denbighshire County Council. Kinmel Bay and Towyn are on the other side of the River Clwyd and come under Conwy County Borough Council. Both work to Welsh planning rules and Welsh building regulations. Parts of this coast are low-lying and are in areas at risk of flooding, which can affect what is approved and how it has to be designed. Changing the number of homes in a building, such as converting flats back into one house, may also need approval.
This is general guidance only. Every property is different, so please check with the council or your designer before making firm plans.
