House renovations
Complete refurbishments of older and newer homes, which can include structural alterations, rewiring, plastering, joinery and decoration.
Llandudno is a few miles along the coast from our base in Old Colwyn, and it is one of the areas we work in most. Russell Developments is an owner-led building company carrying out full house renovations, extensions, loft and garage conversions and one-off new builds across Llandudno, Craig-y-Don, West Shore, Deganwy and Llandudno Junction. |
From improving the home you already have to building a new one, we take on substantial residential projects across Llandudno.
One experienced team, clear communication and a considered approach to every property.

•Llandudno was laid out as a planned Victorian resort, and much of that original town is still standing. The streets behind the promenade are lined with tall terraces and villas, many of them built as hotels and guest houses, with high ceilings, bay windows and several floors of stairs. Craig-y-Don has rows of Edwardian and interwar family homes. West Shore is mostly bungalows and detached houses, and the roads that climb the Great Orme bring steep plots and tight access.
Renovating a period property means bringing it up to modern standards of comfort while respecting its character. Solid walls, original sash windows and decorative plasterwork all need thought, and opening up a layout built for a different century calls for proper structural design. We also extend and convert more modern homes across the town, where the questions are usually simpler: how to gain a bigger kitchen, another bedroom or a better link to the garden.
Planning applications in Llandudno are decided by Conwy County Borough Council, under Welsh planning rules and Welsh building regulations. A large part of the town centre and seafront is a conservation area and the town has many listed buildings, so changes to the outside of a property can be looked at closely. Some properties in Llandudno are also subject to estate covenants, which may mean that consent is needed from the estate as well as the council. Your deeds or your solicitor can confirm whether this applies to you.
